Makarfi also assured the lawmakers that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recognised the caretaker committee.

He said “Yesterday (Tuesday), we attended our first official engagement after taking over. It was a meeting convened by INEC.

“And for us to attend a meeting convened by INEC and make useful contributions, that should tell everybody what that means.”

The embattled chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff claims he is still in charge of the party.

This is following reports that the former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi is now the acting chairman of the PDP.

Members of the PDP also came together to hold a prayer session for President Buhari’s recovery.
