The Georgian winger, who finished sixth in Monday's Ballon d'Or voting, underwent surgery at a clinic in Doha, Qatar, and "will now begin a rehabilitation protocol," according to the club, who have celebrated Champions League glory over the past two seasons.

Kvaratskhelia sustained the injury during last week's Champions League clash against Barcelona, which saw the Parisians secure a 4-2 victory at the Parc des Princes. Sources close to the player told AFP last week that while it is difficult to set a precise timeline for his return, players typically face at least six months on the sidelines with this type of injury.
