Liverpool Ups Minteh Bid, Still Hits Roadblock

Liverpool has reportedly increased their bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh. According to David Ornstein, the new offer stands at £60 million, a £10 million bump from their initial proposal. However, this second bid was also rejected by the Seagulls' management, who are holding out for £70 million for the 22-year-old talent.

Liverpool aims to sign two wingers before the summer transfer window closes, a goal confirmed today by manager Andoni Iraola. Most sources suggest that the transfer of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, the Reds' top target, is almost a done deal, though it might materialize closer to the deadline due to ongoing disagreements over the Frenchman's price. Another player targeted for these positions was PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye, but his acquisition appears more challenging at this stage. Consequently, Liverpool has shifted its focus to Minteh.

Fabrizio Romano adds that the Gambian international has already agreed to personal terms with Liverpool. The Anfield club is set to continue negotiations with Brighton, with the Merseyside outfit confident they will finalize this transfer, much like their pursuit of primary target Barcola.
