Adidas honours player's hometown with signature boot

Adidas has unveiled a pair of new signature boots for Barcelona football star Lionel Messi which honours his hometown.

The signature boot, was created and designed by an artiste from Messi's hometown of Rosario, as part of the #therewillbehaters series at the heart of football,.

The series which is been used by all Adidas brand football ambassadors will pay homage to those that never believed in Messi to leave Rosario to chase his football dreams in Europe.

"I did leave Rosario when I was young, but I still have my people, my neighbourhood, and my favourite spots. Pibe de Barr10 have a lot to do with my life, my childhood and a lot to do with me," Messi said.

Product Manager of Adidas, Max Gassner, defined the boots as the biggest for the best player in the World: "The lines on the shoe are based on an idea from a local artist from Rosario, where Leo Messi is from. ‘This shoe is for the biggest player in the world, for the ultimate stage, if you want to get the best boot, for the biggest stage, for the best player, this is the one,’ Max Gassner said.
