Adidas gifts Barcelona star pair of platinum boots to celebrate 5th Ballon d'Or win

To commemorate Messi’s Ballon d’Or titles, the boot is embossed with four gold and one platinum embellished dots

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has received a pair of platinum boots to celebrate his fifth Ballon d'Or plaque.

The 28-year-old on Monday, January 11 beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar to win his fifth Ballon d'Or.

To celebrate him, his shirt sponsors, adidas sent him a pair of platinum boots to celebrate.

Messi shared a photo of himself posing with his five Ballon d'Or plaques and the platinum boots.

“Messi is the ultimate creator, and the platinum Messi 15 marks his other worldly achievements in football. Gold is for winners, platinum is for the greatest,” adidas said.

The platinum boot features pearlescent premium leather from Argentina, enhanced with pure metallic platinum elements and logos made from of real platinum.
