Reigning Formula One champions Lewis Hamilton ditched the fast cars of the racing sport for a LaFerrari on Thursday night as he arrived a charity ball.

Hamilton was pictured arriving at the 'Keep a Child Alive' Black Ball at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

The LaFerraru which he drove to the ball is worth $1.5 and only 499 of the cars were made the Italian car makers.

The three-time Formula One winner looked dapper as he posed for photos on the red carpet of the ball.

He was pictured with singers Alicia Keys and Maxwell, socialite Padma Lakshmi  and CBS anchor Gayle King.
