Lens ban travelling supporters from northern derby against Lille

Lens will be without travelling supporters for Friday night's northern derby against Lille. The measure is not a sanction imposed by the authorities, but a club decision made following recurring crowd trouble during recent away fixtures.

During the 3-1 win away at Troyes on 17 October, Lens fans lit flares in the 30th minute, forcing play to be halted for several minutes. A similar incident occurred four days later during their Champions League trip to Club Brugge, where flares were even thrown onto the pitch. After receiving heavy fines for the incidents, the Lens hierarchy took action to penalise the section of their fanbase responsible.
