Leclerc Backs Antonelli for Title, With One Condition

Ferrari star Charles Leclerc has declared his support for Andrea Kimi Antonelli in the battle for the Formula 1 World Championship, but with one crucial condition: that a Scuderia driver is no longer in contention for the top spot in the final standings.

Leclerc offered this explanation on Sky Sports Italy ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix race weekend at Spa.

"If Ferrari doesn't win the title, I hope Kimi does. I see my younger self in him," Leclerc explained to the enthusiastic Italian crew.

Antonelli's campaign this season, where he is a favorite for the world title, has sparked significant debate in Italy about whether the young Italian will one day become a Ferrari driver.
