LeBron, who turns 42 later this year, spent 18 minutes on the court—all in the first half.

He finished the contest with 10 points, four rebounds, and a team-high five assists.

James took just one shot from the field, doing the rest of his damage from the charity stripe where he went a perfect 8-for-8.

His highlight of the night was a brilliant assist to V.J. Edgecombe, who finished it off with an emphatic slam.

"It felt a bit different, of course, just putting on a new jersey, but the game is the game... And I was just happy to get out there for a few minutes with the guys I've been going up against in practice over the last two weeks," LeBron said.

The victory ultimately went to the host Nets, who enjoyed a more balanced offensive display, led by Julius Randle with 14 points and six rebounds.

Mario Hezonja logged his first minutes for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they fell 124-113 to the Boston Celtics in NBA preseason action.

Hezonja, returning to the NBA where he played for Orlando, New York, and Portland between 2015 and 2020, scored five points in his first tune-up with his new team.

The Croatian forward came off the bench and contributed five points, five rebounds, and three assists in 16 and a half minutes of action.

His first basket as a Cavalier thrilled the fans—a smooth alley-oop layup finish.

Luka Garza took center stage in the contest, leading Boston to victory with a strong 22-point, 10-rebound double-double.
