The Philadelphia 76ers are forced to explore frontcourt alternatives after a severe Achilles injury sidelined Ariel Hukporti for the remainder of the season. Head coach Nick Nurse discussed the potential solutions to address the roster shortage, with LeBron James being considered for minutes as a small-ball center.
"Dean Wade could probably step into that role if we use him as a center in a smaller lineup, even though he's a pretty big body. I think LeBron could also do the job, as he has played at that spot in small-ball units before. We have four or five players like that and we'll most likely rely on them unless another opportunity comes along," Nurse stated.
Joel Embiid and Adem Bona remain the primary figures in the center rotation. If needed, Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow could also be called upon to fill in at the five.
