LCR Honda has confirmed that Cal Crutchlow will compete in his home British Grand Prix, marking the resumption of the MotoGP season after the summer break.
The Briton returned to the premier class as a replacement for the injured Johann Zarco, who suffered a severe injury in mid-May in Catalonia. The Frenchman is expected to be sidelined until at least September, and the Honda satellite team has confirmed that Crutchlow will once again step in for him at Silverstone in early August.
This will offer Crutchlow an opportunity for a farewell appearance in MotoGP in front of his home crowd. The Briton delivered his strongest performance since returning to the premier class last weekend in Germany, where he was battling for points for the first time. However, Crutchlow did not finish the race, crashing out on the 22nd lap at turn three.
