Partizan basketball players are set to play their first quarterfinal game of the Serbian Basketball League against Sloboda from Užice on Thursday, April 30th.
After a ten-day break (their last game was against Crvena Zvezda on April 19th), Partizan's players have returned to training and club duties. Among them is the newest reinforcement, Joffrey Lauvergne.
As seen in the video Partizan posted on its official Instagram profile, Lauvergne has already donned the number 77 jersey, is participating in training, and appears ready for the clash with Sloboda.
Lauvergne's first stint with Partizan was from 2012 to 2014, and he often emphasized how his time in Belgrade and working with Duško Vujošević changed his life. After that, he played a season for Russian club Khimki before heading to the NBA, where he played for the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs.
In 2018, he returned to Europe, spending two seasons each with Fenerbahçe and Žalgiris, followed by three with ASVEL, from where he moved to Kuwait last autumn. Now, the time has come for his return to the black and whites, having signed a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season.
In recent years, Lauvergne has publicly expressed a strong desire to return to Partizan. Now, his wish has (finally) been granted, and he seems prepared for a grand comeback to the court.
