Lampard: Arsenal Played Like Champions, We're Still Adjusting to the Top Level

Coventry manager Frank Lampard shared his thoughts following the 3-0 defeat to champions Arsenal in their Premier League opener.

"It was clearly a significant challenge. Arsenal are a fantastic team, and this served as a valuable lesson for our lads to see what their opponents are capable of. They played like champions. It was a tough match for us, but the experience gained will likely benefit us, considering the atmosphere at the start of the game and their capabilities. Conceding goals is never pleasant, but that's the reality," Lampard stated.

"We still have to show what we're capable of. Arsenal will beat many teams here. There were also things I liked. The boys deserve more. Our fans were incredibly supportive. They understand that we lost and will draw their conclusions. Not all matches will be like this. Arsenal is a team that stays at the top thanks to their status," he added.

"Adapting to the Premier League? It's difficult. Leeds came here for their first game, lost, but remained in the Premier League. I'm not rushing to conclusions. We'll need to acclimatize," Lampard concluded.
