Lamine Yamal's Father Allegedly Spits at Airport Worker and Clashes with Cameraman
Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal's father, Mounir Nasraoui, has found himself at the centre of two controversies in the space of just a few hours. Following an altercation with a cameraman during the Ballon d'Or ceremony events, he sparked another major incident at Barcelona Airport, according to Spanish outlet El Español.
Reports indicate that Nasraoui became involved in a heated confrontation with a female employee at a cafe inside the Catalan hub. The dispute reportedly began when she asked him to move a jacket left in an inappropriate spot. Instead of complying, Yamal's father reacted aggressively. An argument ensued, during which Nasraoui allegedly spat in the worker's face.
A bystander stepped in to defend the woman, which only escalated tensions further. Nasraoui reportedly grabbed a chair and attempted to throw it at the man.
This was not the only incident involving the Spanish international's father in recent days. Just hours earlier, he was embroiled in another confrontation outside the London Palladium, which hosted the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
Following the gala, Nasraoui was seen outside the venue smoking a cigarette while holding the Kopa Trophy won by his son. A cameraman from a Russian delegation approached to congratulate him and record the moment on his phone. Nasraoui reacted furiously, making an aggressive lunge at the cameraman and nearly knocking the smartphone from his hand.
Former Russian international Andrey Arshavin witnessed the altercation and later criticized the cameraman rather than Yamal's father for his intrusive approach.
"He should have cracked your head open, Seva! It's not right to act like that. Why get right in people's faces? They missed out on the main Ballon d'Or, but won the youth trophy. He was drunk, what did you expect? And you shove a phone in his face," Arshavin said in a video posted on social media.
The former Arsenal forward added that the cameraman had even tried to pose for a picture alongside Nasraoui, which he believed could have triggered an even uglier scene.
