Governor Akinwunmi Ambode reiterating his commitment to his campaign promises, has said he is committed to giving power back to the common Lagosian.

Worried about the increase in the housing demand in the state, Gov. Ambode said his administration will consider a rent and own policy.

Adding that individuals on different income levels will be encouraged to get affordable accommodation.

Commenting on the transport situation in Lagos state, he commended efforts that have been put in place already, and said “As more means of mass transportation come on board, the more than 600,000 private car owners and 120,000 motorcycles that are being put on the road in the state on daily basis will reduce in number.”

He said to move the state forward, a stakeholders summit will be organised to brainstorm on the way forward.

Finally, he asked Lagosians to pay their tax, adding that he has no plans to increase taxes.
