Jürgen Klopp has emphatically denied online claims that he commented on England's World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina or the tactics of head coach Thomas Tuchel.

“Today I received many messages on social media saying I had said something about England's match, Thomas Tuchel, tactics, and similar things,” Klopp stated in a video clip posted on Instagram.

“That's not true. I haven't spoken to anyone in the last 3-4-5 days. The first time I will speak publicly again will be on Sunday for the final,” Jürgen Klopp added, referring to his role as an expert for Magenta TV. He concluded: “Crazy world. Don't believe everything you read. This time it's definitely wrong.”

The England national team lost 2-1 to Argentina on Wednesday. Tuchel, meanwhile, faced significant criticism for playing too defensively after his team took a 1-0 lead.

All World Cup matches are broadcast live on bnt.sportal.bg. The platform will stream all 104 games from the 2026 World Cup schedule in real-time.

Klopp expressed understanding for the fans' disappointment but stressed that the words attributed to him were fabricated. “Of course, people are angry after the national team's defeat. I'm angry too, but not in the way it appears in these fake news reports,” Klopp concluded.

Former Liverpool manager Klopp, who is widely expected to become the next Germany national team coach, was not part of the Magenta TV broadcast team for the match in question.
