Old Lady Target €25 Million Barca Star
Alexis Sanchez of Barcelona is on his way to departing the Catalan giants if reports of his new move interest are confirmed true.
Despite a tremendous career with Barcelona, except for last season when the Catalonian club finished without any silverware, the player is likely to be sold to Juventus in order to fund the club's promised rebuilding process.
Juventus have shown keen interest in the player before Barcelona's renovation project. The Italian champions neared a possible snap up of the player before he joined Barcelona and now the player is available to them as the La Liga giants are in need of funding to strengthen the team for the coming season.
The Chilean has incited direct approach from Juve's sporting director Giuseppe Marotta who emphatically admitted his club's interest, "We want him. We're talking about a very important player that all the big guns would like to have on their books," Marotta said.
According to two Italian media sources 'Tuttosport' and 'La gazzetta dello Sport,' Juventus is offering about €18 million but Barca expects nothing less than €25 million for the Chilean who was estimated at €26 million in addition with €11 million attachments three seasons ago.
The Italian champions are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the UEFA champions League and defence of the Scudetto they won last season.
'The Old Lady' of Turin as they are fondly called has set targets on Udinese's Argentine international, 23 year-old Roberto Maximiliano Pereyra, and Ivorian international Didier Drogba to help them retain the Italian Championship for a record 4 straight wins.
