Jones and Motley Land in Belgrade! Immediately at the Airport, They Confess They're Waiting for Just One Thing /VIDEO/
)
Both players were in high spirits and, as expected, couldn't wait to play in front of the Red Star fans.
We first spoke with backcourt reinforcement, Chris Jones.
Did the fact that you and Jonathan Motley were teammates last season influence both of you signing with Crvena Zvezda?
I actually signed my contract before my agent finalized his deal, and as soon as I saw he was a free agent, I contacted him immediately. We had a brief chat about everything, and I'm glad to see he made the right decision.Chris Jones
What are you most looking forward to in Belgrade?
The fans, without a doubt! I always emphasize the fans, and I'm truly excited about them. I'm also looking forward to sharing the locker room with a great group of guys. I've played against Zvezda twice, I know Sammy (Ojeleye) from before, and I believe we'll work together excellently.Chris Jones
Last year, it was tough playing in that atmosphere as an opponent, so it will certainly be easier now that they're on your side.
Exactly. Now we're on the same side, and it's a great feeling to know that such a crowd will be behind us. It gives us a huge boost.Chris Jones
Did Miloš Teodosić, as a great legend of European basketball, influence your arrival?
We haven't had a detailed conversation yet, but I hope we'll sit down and talk soon. His presence certainly influenced my decision.Chris Jones
Is there any teammate you're particularly excited to share the court with?
I couldn't single out just one. We have a truly fantastic team; I already know a few guys, and I'm genuinely looking forward to working with the entire squad.Chris Jones
Motley also had some interesting statements, arriving at the airport with four suitcases, as if to signal his intention to stay in the Serbian capital for the rest of his career.
On the fans:
I've played in front of Zvezda fans many times, but now I'll be on their side, so it will be different. It will be incredible. I think we can achieve great things.Jonathan Motley
On often being in the spotlight when playing in Belgrade.
That's because opposing players often give me the energy to play better, but I'll be glad they're on my side now. I'll give my whole heart to make everything the best it can be.Jonathan Motley
Who is he most excited to play with on the team?
I'm good with Moneke; we've played against each other many times. Now we'll play together for the first time, and I believe we could do a lot of good things.Jonathan Motley
