Jokic, the MVP, Weaves Magic! From -17 to Triple-Double and a Spectacular Overtime Victory /VIDEO/
Despite the Blazers holding a 17-point lead at the start of the final quarter (and a maximum 18-point advantage midway through the third period), they ultimately had to fight tooth and nail to force overtime (125:125)!
Denver staged a comeback, taking a 125:123 lead, which forced Portland to extend the game. The Colorado team showcased championship grit in overtime, spearheaded by the masterful Sombor native who delivered another historic performance.
Jokic's Masterclass and Dominance
Nikola Jokic spent just over 43 minutes on the court, recording an impressive triple-double. The Serbian center tallied 35 points, along with 14 rebounds and 13 assists. He shot 15/31 from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line (4/4). His impact on the game during crucial moments was the decisive factor in the Colorado team's triumph.
Alongside Jokic, Aaron Gordon delivered a consistently strong performance with 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Jamal Murray added 20 points and 7 assists.
Portland Threatened by Camara and Avdija
The home team refused to give up until the very end, largely thanks to Toumani Camara, who played a career-best game. Camara poured in 30 points, including an incredible 8/13 from beyond the arc.
He received excellent support from Deni Avdija, who flirted with a double-double, registering 26 points and 7 assists, while Jrue Holiday contributed 19 points and 11 assists. However, the Oregon team had no answer for Denver's offense in the closing stages of overtime.
Portland hit an impressive 25 three-pointers out of 52 attempts, compared to Denver's 12/38. However, Denver managed to neutralize this aspect of the game, securing a significant victory and a character-defining win heading into the playoffs.
