The highly anticipated rematch between Jan Blachowicz and Bogdan Guskov is back on the UFC's schedule.
On Friday, the organization officially announced that the bout between former light heavyweight champion Blachowicz (29-11-2) and Guskov (18-3-1) has been added to the upcoming UFC Belgrade event. The fight night is set to take place on August 1st at the Belgrade Arena in Serbia.
Blachowicz and Guskov previously faced off at UFC 323 last December, but neither fighter secured a victory, as the contest was declared a majority draw. One judge scored the fight 29-28 for Blachowicz, while the other two scored it 28-28, after Guskov received two 10-8 rounds in the second. The outcome was frustrating for both fighters – Blachowicz is now on a four-fight winless streak (including two draws) dating back to 2022, while Guskov saw his four-fight winning streak snapped.
Their rematch was initially scheduled for UFC 328 in May, but Blachowicz was forced to withdraw due to a meniscus tear.
The main event for UFC Belgrade will feature a welterweight clash between local favorite Uroš Medić and the returning Daniel Rodriguez. This marks the organization's inaugural event in Serbia.
