Russian defender proposes to girlfriend

He is usually on the field of play battling defenders and trying to win points for Russia and his club side FC Rostov, but Ivan Novoseltsev also chose the field of play to conquer in his love life.

The 23-year-old defender brought his girlfriend to the field after a match and proposed to her.

The defender popped the question to his girlfriend after his side's 1-0 win against Torpedo Moscow on the night of Monday, April 21.

Novoseltsev got on one knee at the Olimp-2 stadium to ask Katerina Keyru to marry him.

With his team-mates and everybody watching, the player's girlfriend who is a professional basketball player said yes.

Novoseltsev put the ring on Keyru's finger before kissing and hugging her, he presented his wife to be with a huge bouquet of flowers.

Novoseltsev made his debut for the Russia national football team on 31 March 2015 in a friendly game against Kazakhstan.
