With Enzo Maresca taking over from Pep Guardiola, Doku revealed that the new Italian manager's playing style was a crucial factor in his decision to commit his long-term future to City.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at City so far, so having the opportunity to stay here longer is a fantastic feeling. This club means a great deal to me – I’ve developed both as a player and a person here. I feel at home and I know I’m improving every day thanks to the work the coaching staff puts in,” Doku stated, as reported by AFP.
