A car bomb hit a group of mourners in the Yemeni capital Sanaa overnight, residents said, in an attack that medics said wounded around 28 people, some critically.

In a statement posted online, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the blast, the latest in a series of attacks by the hardline Sunni Muslim militant group against Yemen's dominant Houthis - a Shi'ite militia they regard as apostates.
