Mosque conducts vigil for Brussels' attack victims
Nudrat Mansoor, president of the Al-Hadi Mosque’s women association said the vigil was conducted to show that humanity comes before religion.
"Humanity comes before religion. Humanity comes before all else, you're not a good person following a faith if you're not loyal to other humans," said Mansoor.
Mansoor said peace should be the major concern of people in the world.
"So we prayed, we had tears in our eyes, we cared for those people who lost family members.
"Peace was the main concern and today, we wanted our youth to know that whatever happens you can't be sitting quietly and not doing anything about it," she said.
She explained that Islam does not support violence and that events like causes distrust against muslims.
Pope Francis has expressed his sympathy to the families of the victims.
The pontif prayed for God’s mercy on the lost souls and their families.
