A Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos ‎on Thursday granted a N20,000 bail to a teenager, Sadiq Abdullahi, who is standing trial for allegedly stealing six pieces of u channel iron valued at N81,000.‎The Chief Magistrate, Mr. A.A. Paul, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused one surety in like sum.‎‎Paul said the surety must be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment.

Abdullahi, 18, whose address is unknown, pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Christopher Okoliko, told the court that the accused with others still at large committedthe  offence at Elo Steel Ltd, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos, on May 16‎.

Okoliko alleged that the accused and others conspired to steal six pieces of U Channel iron  valued at  N81,000, propertyof Elochukwu Agba.‎‎The offence contravened Sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 (Revised).‎The case was adjourned until June 5 for mention.
