Following a flu test on birds that left one positive for the H7N9 virus, thousands of chickens are being slaughtered in Hong Kong.

According to a report by Al Jazera, the trade in live poultry has been immediately stopped in the province where the bird tested positive for the H7N9 bird flu virus as well as country.

In Nigeria, Stella Ojeme, Director of Information and Communication FCTA recently confirmed to journalists that Abuja has been declared bird flu free.
However, in the early days of June 2016, Niger confirmed the outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N1bird flu virus at a poultry site in the capital Niamey.
