Man arraigned in court for forced sexual intercourse

A man named Olakunle Owoeye, has been arraigned by the Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for raping a 21-year-old lady whom he threatened to kill if she denied him sex.
According to a prosecutor, Inspector Bayo Ajiboye, the accused committed the offence on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
He stated that the lady was stranded and had to spend the night at the man's house after he offered to accommodate her.
“The accused at midnight threatened to kill the complainant if she denied him sex.
“He threatened to throw her body into the bush since nobody knew she was there.
“He forcefully had sex with the lady without her consent."
Such act contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2012 according to Ajiboye.
The accused is expected to be remanded in prison pending a recommendation from the office of Director of Pubic Prosecution (DPP).
Modupe Afeniforo, the court magistrate has adjourned the case till January 23, 2016.
