The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has revealed the number of deaths from Borno state.

According to the Sector Commander, Alhaji
Reckless driving, speed limit violation, overloading and wrong overtaking were identified as some causes of road traffic accidents.
Najume attributed the low rate of accident-related deaths to the FRSC's efforts and insurgency.

"The rate of road accident drastically reduced because of the insurgency. The check points really help a lot in this regard. Our officers are also in every nook and crannies to ensure safety on the road,’’ he said.
While Borno state had a reduction in accident-related deaths, the United States had an 8% increase.
According to AP News, last year had the highest number of accident-related deaths in 50 years.
