Bay County Public Library is celebrating 'Black History Month', by hosting its first ever African American Literature Read-In.

Sandra Pierce, the youth services librarian, told NewsChannel 7 that guests would be treated to great works written by black authors.

Pierce says it's important for everyone to read the experiences of people who may not look like them.

This event is geared toward families, individuals, and people of all cultures.

Destiny Young of the Global Arts Society will also perform a solo dance to Martin Luther King, Jr.'s iconic "I Have a Dream" speech. Pierce added.
