This is because the “aso ebi” is what distinguishes you as a qualified guest at the party, any other outfit would sell you out as an intruder. Dress like a pastor or an Imam: Nigerians don't joke with their religious leaders. Once they set their eyes on you, they will start to pamper you, and in return you will pray for them. The disadvantage is that you will be unable to consume alcohol because if you try it, you may land yourself in a place that you will not like.
