“Honestly, I don't know what to say... this is so powerful. From the first time my father bought me a pair of football boots, I dreamed of scoring exactly this goal. This is for my mother, who, from the day I left for Racing, never stopped making my bed. This is also for my children. All of this is so much more than just a final, and today I'm simply enjoying life,” the emotional goalscorer shared through tears.

Martinez also revealed an interesting detail from the bench before becoming Lionel Scaloni's super-sub: “I told Medina I would score. I was going to come on and win the game.”

The striker also analyzed the match, explaining how the South Americans managed to break down the Three Lions' defense in the closing minutes.

“When they scored their goal, they dropped deep into defense. However, we stretched the play wide and found our way to the goals. Three and a half years later, we are back in a final,” Lautaro Martinez concluded.
