'What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours' tops one of the most talked-about books of 2016

Goodreads recently released its most buzzed-about books of this year so far and What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours by Helen Oyeyemi topped the list.

Named one of Granta‘s Best Young British Novelists, Helen Oyeyemi's new short story collection is making headlines everywhere and it has been listed as one of the best books for this year.

Described as "magical realism," What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours is cleverly built around the idea of keys, literal and metaphorical. The key to a house, the key to a heart, the key to a secret - Oyeyemi's keys not only unlock elements of her characters' lives, they promise further labyrinths on the other side.

Independent UK termed What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours as an "exceptional work of fiction, by a writer we should be delirious to have as a contemporary."

Helen Oyeyemi is the author of five novels, most recently Boy, Snow, Bird, which was a finalist for the 2014 Los Angeles Times Book Prize. She received a 2010 Somerset Maugham Award and a 2012 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. In 2013, she was named one of Granta‘s Best Young British Novelists.
