The Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has shown that he has a heart of gold when he declared that he was adopting a 6-year-old disabled boy who has been begging in the streets of Lafia, the state capital, on June 7.

The governor, according to reports, was passing through the Akurba area where the physically challenged boy named Samaila Dantani, lives with his parents to inspect a flooded area in the state when he sighted the boy on the dusty ground and filled with pity, he had to stop and interact with him.

At the end of the chit-chat with the boy, Al-Makura promised to adopt the boy and sponsor him from primary through tertiary institutions.
