Following the game, Denver coach David Adelman lauded his team's unselfish play and teamwork, attributing this approach directly to Serbian center Nikola Jokić.
"He historically does that!"
Adelman explained that he brought his key players, including Jokić, back onto the court with eight minutes remaining, which led to dominant play and an impressive number of assists.
We have talented players, but being talented and being unselfish are two completely different things. Tonight we had 37 assists. KCP had seven, Jamal seven, Aaron five, and Nikola 13, as he historically does!David Adelman
The Nuggets coach then revealed the philosophy that has propelled the team to the top of the league. He emphasized that the goal is always to find the open teammate, even though it's clear who takes responsibility in crucial moments.
Our philosophy is: "If we're going to lose a game, let's lose it by passing the ball to a completely open teammate." We believe in that shot. We all know Jamal and Nikola can do incredible, special things, hit the toughest shots possible, and they will do it whenever the team needs them. But playing the game the right way, that's what makes us the best offense in the league.
He also touched upon Aaron Gordon's progress, describing him as a true "weapon" thanks to his improved shooting. However, Adelman concluded that everything stems from the team's intelligence and Jokić's court vision, which is no longer considered a surprise but a standard the Serbian ace sets game after game.
