The management of Spanish football club Celta Vigo has turned down an offer from Nottingham Forest for the transfer of Javi Rueda. The talented winger was a key player for the Galicians last season and played a significant role in their progression to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Last November, he extended his contract with Celta until 2029. "Javi is a crucial part of our squad. He possesses immense potential," stated Celta coach Claudio Giraldez regarding Rueda.

Following the rejection of Nottingham's offer, the club opted to improve the player's contract and increase his wages. Rueda is included in Celta's squad for Thursday's rescheduled home fixture against Osasuna Pamplona in La Liga's first round.
