The Norwegian national team returned home this Monday after their elimination from the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals against England. As expected, Erling Haaland was at the center of attention, though not for his football prowess, but for an unusual accessory: the striker disembarked carrying a plush raccoon clutching a bottle of alcoholic beverage.
The aircraft transporting the coaching staff and players touched down at Oslo Airport's private jet terminal at 7:06 PM (Continental Portugal time). Before landing, upon entering Norwegian airspace, the plane was escorted by two F-35 fighter jets from the country's air force. On the ground, it was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute.
In front of a group of fans gathered by the airport fences, head coach Stale Solbakken was the first to exit the plane, walking down a red carpet, followed by captain and number 10, Martin Odegaard. Shortly after, Haaland appeared, laden with two large suitcases and the object that quickly went viral on social media. Following their arrival, the delegation proceeded by bus to the city center, heading to the Royal Palace, where they are scheduled to be received by King Harald V.
