Guatemala VP resigns amid customs corruption scandal

GUATEMALA CITY, May 8 (Reuters) - Guatemalan Vice President Roxana Baldetti on Friday said she was resigning her position for personal reasons amid a widening customs corruption racket allegedly led by her personal secretary.

Guatemala's Supreme Court this week ruled lawmakers could revoke the vice president's immunity from prosecution following demands from lawmakers and public street protests. (Reporting by Sofia Menchu)
