Gospel singer Neon Adejo clears name from infidelity allegations involving photographer’s wife, shares painful lesson
Neon Adejo explained how he became involved in the couple’s marital crisis.
He reveals he paid hospital bills, provided food and secured accommodation for Alicia and her son, insisting his actions came from genuine concern.
The singer says the controversy taught him a painful lesson about helping people
The controversy started after David shared private conversations between Alicia and Neon, accusing the singer of crossing boundaries with his wife during their marriage.
Neon has now distanced himself from the allegations, insisting that he had no romantic involvement with Alicia and only became part of the situation after he tried to help her during a difficult period.
Responding to the claims on his Instagram story, the singer stated that he had absolutely no business with what was happening between the estranged couple, adding that he only became involved because he genuinely tried to help someone in need.
“I have receipts and documentation of my own side of this story, but let me make one thing very clear: I had absolutely no business with what was happening between the two of them. I only became involved because I genuinely tried to help someone in need.
One thing I'm grateful I did was carry my wife along throughout the entire process of supporting Alicia, even when I had been made her to believe that certain things were private and needed discretion.”
He stated that getting involved in the couple’s marriage has taught him a painful lesson. He added that he will now be more careful when getting involved in personal or marital problems, no matter how tragic the story may be.
“What has shocked me the most is discovering that conversations and messages from someone my wife and I deliberately chose to help were recorded and shared with the very person she had described to me in completely different terms.
This experience has taught me a painful lesson: good intentions do not always mean you are dealing with people who have good intentions toward you.
Going forward, I will be extremely careful about getting involved in marital or personal matters, no matter how heartbreaking the story may sound,” he said
Neon, however, went further to narrate his side of the story and explain how he got involved.
He said David was someone he had always been cool with and recalled that the situation started one evening in 2025 while he was praying. He claimed he had a sudden impression that Alicia was unhappy, despite not keeping up with her or knowing what was happening in her life at the time.
According to him, he reached out to both Alicia and David on Instagram to check if everything was fine.
Neon said his involvement later became more practical as he helped Alicia and her son, Noah, with hospital bills, food and other basic needs.
He also said he took her shopping and eventually helped secure an Airbnb in Lekki Phase 1 for a month after she had nowhere to stay.
He claimed the accommodation cost N270,000 per night and insisted that his actions came from a desire to protect Alicia and her son, rather than any romantic interest.
“I have a son of my own. I cannot imagine watching my brother's son struggle and simply looking away. I wasn't trying to be a hero. I was simply doing what I believed was right at the time.”
Neon also said he spoke to his pastor and reached out to Alicia before addressing David directly.
He maintained that there was no justification for violence in a marriage and urged David to take accountability, insisting that his support for Alicia and her son came from genuine concern.
“I have no interest in becoming part of the conflict between you and your wife. I simply refuse to stand by and pretend that violence is acceptable.”
David had earlier broken his silence on the marital crisis, claiming Alicia was unfaithful and alleging that he discovered what he described as inappropriate conversations between her and Neon. He shared screenshots of the alleged exchanges as part of his account of the failed marriage.
The controversy came days after Alicia publicly accused David of abuse during their marriage.
