Combative Nigerian defender Godfery Oboabona has returned to training as reports confirm.

The defender returned to training having injured himself in the game against Iran on June 16 and has been out of team action since then.

If he gets fit enough, he may play the game against Argentina on Wednesday June 25.

Given a clean bill of health, the player said: “I am ready to resume training today and the medics have given me a clean bill.''

Captain of the side Joseph Yobo who will be bagging a 100th cap if he plays in the game against Argentina says that "It's good news that I will reach that milestone but what is uppermost in my mind is for the team to win and for us to advance to the next stage.

Yobo indicates that he is not bothered about who starts or sits on the bench: "The rest will be a bonus," he declares.

The return of Oboabona would strengthen the Eagles central defence which has managed to keep clean sheets in the two games played so far, but it leaves the coach with the task of having to start him with both Yobo and Omeruo or just sit out for the duo to start.
