Coach of the Golden Eaglets Emmanuel Amuneke has hailed president of federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari for the successes of his team at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Amuneke’s men on Sunday, November 1 sealed a semi-final place with a 3-0 win over the Selecao of Brazil.

The coach says Buhari’s changes in the polity of the county brought about the success of his boys in Chile.

"Today’s victory represents change (for our country) in the sense that many who doubted us will see that hard work, merit and truth are non-negotiable terms in this team,” Amuneke told the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation.

“Personally, I give kudos to President Buhari for introducing changes in our country; and if all of us can embrace those changes, we can confidently say that everybody irrespective of where they come from can be given an equal opportunity to play for the country.”

In other related news, the Golden Eaglets will face Mexico in the semi-final clash that will be played on Thursday, November 5.
