Nice secured a 2-1 away victory over Brest in the opening match of Ligue 1 Matchday 8. Les Aiglons returned to winning ways to climb into the top half of the table, while the hosts suffered a second straight winless outing to drop to 11th place.

Ludovic Ajorque put the home side ahead in the 15th minute, capitalising on an error by visiting goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf.

Nice drew level in the 61st minute through Elye Wahi, whose effort clipped the left post before finding the back of the net.

The comeback was complete seven minutes from normal time when Sofiane Diop found the bottom right corner.

Deep into stoppage time, Brest were awarded a penalty, but Diouf redeemed himself for his earlier blunder by denying Kenny Lala's spot-kick to secure all three points for the visitors.
