The rugby event of the 2014 Commonwealth Games took off yesterday with the expected results coming in the way.
The 2 days sport event saw the big teams claim dominance over the less powering rugby playing nations.
In some of the sevens games played at the Ibrox stadium, holders
South Africa recorded three straight victories in its pool:
South Africa vs Trinidad and Tobago (36-0); vs. Cook Islands (50-0), vs Kenya (20-0)
New Zealand beat Canada (36-0), Scotland (17-14), Barbados (59-0)
Australia vs. Sri Lanka (62-7), vs. Uganda (43-5), vs. England (15-7)
Kenya vs. Cook Island (28-0), vs. Trinidad &Tobago (35-5) and lost (0-20) to South Africa
Wales vs. Malaysia (52-0), vs. Papua New Guinea (29-7) but lost to Samoa (19-12)
After the first day of rugby events, decider for the medallists resumed today with the following quarter final games:
