Getafe secured their second victory of the La Liga season, narrowly defeating Malaga 1-0 at home in a match from the seventh round. Ivan Ason scored the lone goal five minutes before the end of regular time.
While the capital club celebrates accumulating 8 points, Malaga will head into the international break rooted to the bottom of the table, the only team in the entire league still without a win.
The first half at the Alfonso Pérez was evenly contested, with a goal for the visitors disallowed for offside late in the period. After the break, however, Getafe showed a different face, completely outplaying the newcomers, but only managed to score once, with Ason finding the net in the 85th minute.
When the league resumes, Getafe faces an away trip to Barcelona on October 10th, while Malaga will host Espanyol a day earlier.
