Speaking to the oldest sports paper in Poland , Rohr admitted that he intends to fix the problem ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

"It is true we have a goalkeeping problem. Our problem is Ikeme’s illness (he was diagnosed with leukaemia),”  Rohr said.

In Ikeme's absence, Rohr used Daniel Akpeyi in the 2-0 loss to South Africa in June 2017 and the first 45 minutes of the friendly game against Argentina in November 2017.

Enyimba goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa kept the post for Nigeria for the last four games in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
