Game of Thrones publisher defends author
Its been six months now since we were promised by George RR Martin that he was going to release the widely anticipated sixth novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter.
Unfortunately it seems we have to wait longer for the book.
In an interview with Newsweek, the publishers behind Martin were unable to give any hints as to when we can expect the book, the UK editor of Harper Collins saying: “I'm like Jon Snow: I know nothing.”
“All I do know is that George is working very hard. And as soon as we possibly can after he delivers, we'll publish the book."
The novelist revealed at the start of this year that he would be unable to complete the sixth novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series, The Winds of Winter, before the airing of the new Game of Thrones series this spring. “Yes, there’s a lot written. Hundreds of pages. Dozens of chapters,” he wrote in January.
Right now, the film is ahead of the book and we hope Mr Martin will finish the book ASAP.
Until then, watch the interview he did with Stephen King below.
