Genoa has reportedly initiated talks with Brighton to secure a loan deal for forward Evan Ferguson, according to sources in Italy.

The *Grifone* are seriously considering a move for the Republic of Ireland international, who spent last season on loan at Roma. The *Giallorossi* had the option to make Ferguson's move permanent but opted not to activate the €40 million buy-out clause. The 21-year-old had a disappointing spell with Roma, featuring in 22 matches, scoring five goals, and providing two assists.
