"We are on course with the stakeholders on this and there is no going back on Mr President’s directive of April 1.We have already created a portal and will impound as many vehicles that flaunt this. I have enough provision, nationwide, to impound and prosecute them."

Now, the Sector Commander of the corps in Akwa Ibom, Mrs Cecelia Alao, is promising to abide by this deadline.

She urged the appropriate bodies to help out, adding that it would help reduce the number of road crashes.

"We have agreed that the FRSC will start full implementation of installation of speed limiting device in commercial vehicles on April 1. We are presently engaging all stakeholders in the sector to sensitise their members on the enforcement of the rule on installation of the device on commercial vehicles. We are adopting far-reaching methods to inform all Akwa Ibom people to be prepared.”
