From France to Portugal: "I will spare no effort to help Vitória"

Lohann Doucet is already speaking like a conqueror. After officially signing the Burkina Faso international midfielder on Tuesday morning, Vitória de Guimarães released a statement this afternoon featuring quotes from the player, who claims he didn't think twice about embracing this new challenge.

"When the initial approaches came, I already knew that Vitória is a big club in Portugal. As soon as the possibility arose to move to Guimarães and represent Vitória, I didn't hesitate for a second," the midfielder stated, in comments released by the club's official media channels.

Seizing the opportunity, Doucet briefly introduced his skills to the Vitória fans: "I am a very dynamic player, I like to help my teammates, I like to defend, I like to be the center of the game with the ball to assist my team's forwards. I will spare no effort to help Vitória, my teammates, and the team."

The African player, who arrives in Guimarães from French club Paris FC — though he spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow French side Dunkerque — expressed his delight with what he saw in the "Cradle City." "I've already visited the D. Afonso Henriques Stadium, and it's a beautiful, large stadium. I know the fans are very passionate about the club, and I really want to meet them and feel that support. I've also seen our Academy, and it's excellent. I had the opportunity to visit the facilities and I really liked them because there's a lot of space to work, and the infrastructure is great," he added.

Doucet made it clear that he is willing to improve in any way necessary to integrate as quickly as possible into Vitória and Portuguese football. This is why he even emphasized the importance of learning the language of Camões: "I'm eager to join my teammates and start training with the squad. I want to get to know all my teammates. I know there are other players who speak French, but I'm excited to learn Portuguese so I can communicate with everyone."
