Foundation, corps members take medical service to Suleja prisons
Some corps members on the platform of EcoVanguard community development service group recently carried out medical tests and counseling for female prisoners at the Suleja prisons.
The medical outreach was organized in conjunction with the Huncho Foundation and Playback Nigeria.
35 Female prisoners were made to undertake various medical tests, ranging from Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, body mass index, blood sugar to know their status in order to maintain a healthy living even in prison.
Convener of the outreach, Owuwadimimu Ononuga, said the choice of a prison was to give the inmates hope.
Zachary Aiji Audu, the president of Huncho Foundation, said the outreach was in response to the outcry from prisoners over poor health services in the prison.
Audu, a corps member and poultry farmer, urged other well-meaning Nigerians to visit the prisons and assist the inmates with supplies.
Prisons officers also participated in the exercise which lasted for well over four hours.
