Sébastien Buemi, a stalwart of Formula E history, is set to conclude his participation in the all-electric championship after the 2025/26 season, which culminates with two races in London this weekend.

The Swiss driver has competed in Formula E since its inaugural season, clinching the title in 2015/16. However, following the conclusion of the current campaign, Buemi will shift his focus to his commitments with Toyota in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), while also serving as an advisor for the Envision team.

Consequently, from the start of the 2026/27 Formula E season, not a single driver from the championship's early days will remain on the grid. Currently, alongside Buemi, Lucas di Grassi also competes in Formula E, having announced earlier this year that he will retire from his racing career after the London races.

Buemi boasts an impressive Formula E record of 151 races, including 14 victories, 36 podium finishes, 17 pole positions, and 10 fastest laps. In addition to his 2015/16 title, the Swiss driver has also secured three runner-up finishes in 2014/15, 2016/17, and 2018/19.
